This 1-day workshop is held virtually via Zoom on Wednesday, Feb 10th from 7-9pm for adults & teens 17+. The Zoom invitation is included in the confirmation email.
In this two-hour virtual workshop, participants will design individual 4 inch x 4 inch mini-canvases during a relaxing art-making process. Each canvas has magnets on the back to hang on a refrigerator, on file cabinets or white boards. (If preferred, a sawtooth hanger can be attached instead for display on a wall). We will use simple materials, including acrylic paint and torn paper. All experience levels welcome, especially those who are new to art-making. This project illustrates the fact that we are all working toward common goals but bring different imaginative elements to achieving the goals, which makes the results unique yet connected. Join us for a fun social activity for all! Students provide materials. This 1-day workshop is held virtually via Zoom on Sunday, Feb 21st from 1-4pm for adults & teens 17+. The Zoom invitation is included in the confirmation email.
Find your Zen! Enso is an art-making moving meditation. By painting a simple circle with specific intention and doing that act in a repeated fashion, the mindfulness of the actual act itself transforms your mindset away from painting a circle to a calm, centered feeling that results from traditional meditation. You will learn a bit about the history of Enso, “play” with various techniques using the Chinese brush, experience a guided meditation, watch a demonstration of making Enso art, then practice the art of Enso by making many mindful circles. You will then enhance a selection of your circles using watercolor or acrylic paint. The workshop will wrap up with sharing your circles to the group and relating insights or experiences you had while making them. We will finish with some simple Qi Gong breathing exercises. Open to all levels – no art experience necessary! Student provide materials. Download an Enso Zen Circles Materials List ![]() Images above: Examples of Enso Circles by artist, Rina Naik Download the AAM’s tips & planning information for 2021 Virtual Winter Art Classes & Workshops BECOME A MEMBER AND SAVE ON CLASS TUITION! *What is printmaking you ask? Printmaking is a process where multiple prints of an image can be made from a single plate. A plate can be any material such as wood, linoleum, styrofoam, cardboard or even a potato. A drawing is created on the surface of the plate, then ink is applied and the image is transferred to a piece of paper. This piece of paper is known as a print. This technique can be used to create various prints of the same image. BECOME A MEMBER AND SAVE ON CLASS TUITION!
