Wednesday Workshops - Extend the Creative Day! For ages 5-13.
Choose from eight art workshop sessions held once a week for two hours, July 5 - Aug 23, 2017 from 3-5pm. You must register for each Wed. Workshop individually. Each workshop will explore a unique "Ism" of Art, see below for details.
Workshop costs include materials.

  • Wed, August 23rd: "Ism" of Art Theme - POINTILLISM
  • Pointillism (1880s-1890s) is a way of painting in which small separate dots of pure color are used to form images. The artist paints the picture with hundreds of tiny dots, mainly of red, yellow, blue and green, with white. The eye and mind of the viewer mix the colors to make different shades of these colors, as well as orange, purple, pink, and brown depending on the way the dots of color are arranged. Georges Seurat first used this technique in 1886.
